The 2022 Benje is unfiltered and slightly cloudy, with green lemon, farmyard, and straw scents. On the palate, it’s dry, taut, and acidic, with excellent persistence and tension.
Bright salmon pink in color. Full, fragrant & fragrant nose of ripe fresh fruit aromas of fresh strawberries, raspberries & citrus notes with overtones of rose floral notes, some spice notes & minerals.
Made in a sherry-like style, this wine ages under flor but is not fortified, allowing a focus on fruit character. The result is a fresh, easy-to-drink wine.
A special selection of older vines, some 80 years or more, from the estate’s flint-rich soils. Light golden yellow in color, with a full, forward, and attractive nose of ripe fruit. Simple, clean, light, and refreshing, with an exceptionally pure finish.
Renato makes very good, moderately priced wines from native grapes such as Vernaccia, Canaiolo Nero, and Sangiovese. We particularly enjoyed the Vernaccia di San Gimignano.
