Clos Figueras was founded 28 years ago by Christopher Cannan, a visionary in the European fine wine trade who recognized the extraordinary potential of Priorat’s rugged landscape and centuries-old vines. Located just outside the village of Gratallops, the estate quickly became an emblem of modern Priorat, where respect for tradition meets thoughtful innovation. Clos Figueras has since earned a reputation for producing wines that embody the essence of this dramatic terrain — steep slate terraces, low-yield vines, and a terroir rooted in the revival of the region during the late 20th century.
Serras del Priorat 2022 reflects the estate’s commitment to sustainable viticulture and minimal-intervention winemaking. The blend is predominantly Garnacha and Cariñena, complemented by Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes are hand-harvested from organically farmed vineyards, fermented in stainless steel and cement vats to preserve freshness, and aged in French oak to enhance texture. The result is a refined, balanced expression of Priorat.
The Serras del Priorat 2022 is a bright, energetic expression of the region. It opens with ripe red cherry notes and subtle hints of dried herbs and chalk.
