Marcos Canedo of Vinos Valtuille blends fruit from different vineyard plots at both higher and lower elevations, seeking balance between the clay based sites that offer generous fruit and the higher, sandier areas that provide structure and power. The result is Pago de Valdoneje Bierzo.
Dimas García Canedo founded Vinos Valtuille S.L. in 1999. Today, the winery is thriving and expanding under the management of two of his children, Elena and Marcos.
The Pago de Valdoneje Mencía 2023 shows bright aromas of blackberries, plum, and mint on the nose. Dry and vibrant, the 2023 offers spirited tannins, toasted notes and a clean, fresh fruit finish. An excellent example of quality Mencía and very good value.
