Hiruzta Getariako Txakolina Rosé 2025

Hiruzta Getariako Txakolina Rosé 2025
Spain, País Vasco, Getariako Txakolina
55% Hondarrabi Beltza (red) 45% Hondarrabi Zuri (white)
Producción Integrada

Hiruzta farms its estate vineyards in Hondarribia using Integrated Production, a sustainable approach that emphasizes careful vineyard management, minimal chemical intervention, and respect for the surrounding environment. The south-facing vines benefit from cooling Atlantic breezes and limestone-rich soils, while all grapes are hand harvested and vinified on-site to preserve the vibrant character of the indigenous Hondarrabi Beltza and Hondarrabi Zuri varieties.

I picked up this bottle as an alternative to Ameztoi Rubentis after noticing its price has steadily increased. At just under $20. , in the glass, it shows a beautiful pink gooseberry hue with inviting aromas of strawberry, redcurrant, and bright citrus. The palate is crisp and lively, with refreshing acidity balanced by a clean, mineral driven finish. It is an ideal wine for these hot summer days.

While both wines are excellent expressions of Basque rosé, they offer distinctly different personalities. Hiruzta is the more elegant and terroir focused wine, with greater precision and minerality that make it a natural companion at the dinner table. Ameztoi Rubentis, by contrast, is more exuberant and playful, with its signature spritz and vibrant fruit capturing the carefree spirit of a Basque summer.
