100% Canaiolo Nero
San Gimignano
During the Quaternary period, the Ligurian Sea covered the valleys of this part of Tuscany with shallow, calm waters, creating an ideal environment for the growth of crustaceans and mollusks. These creatures were the first inhabitants of Montenidoli, leaving behind a precious heritage. The white, sandy soil of the lower part of the hill, between 270 and 450 yards above sea level, consists of their shell remains; it is calcareous and rich in marine sediments.
The wine opens with notes of raspberries and violets, progressing to orange blossoms and citrus. It offers a pleasing contrast of minerality and citrus with a savory core. Mouth-watering and refreshing, it leaves you wanting more. The wine has a very nice long finish, perfect for summer drinking.
