Rizzardi KEYA Bardolino Chiaretto Classico
The wine shop was pouring this, so I decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised by its color and freshness. It had a beautiful watermelon color with hints of peach and orange. On the palate, it revealed soft melon and herbal flavors. The wine had a long, tenacious finish that lingered with tropical fruit notes.
KEYA is the result of several years of work, during which Rizzardi has strived to create a rosé that truly showcases the personality of their vineyards in the hills overlooking Bardolino. They have gradually adjusted the blend and color to achieve a style that embodies the qualities of Bardolino Chiaretto. The label pays homage to Contessa M.C. Loredan’s Venetian heritage, as she was the one who led Guerrieri Rizzardi for many years and introduced so many people to Bardolino Chiaretto. The name itself is a simple play on the first two syllables of Chi-a-ret-to (KEY-A). Although light in color, it boasts a rich style. 13.0% Alcohol, $22.
65% Corvina, 20% Sangiovese & Merlot, 15% Rondinella
