Situated entirely in Rioja Alta, as the name suggests, La Rioja Alta has maintained a longstanding reputation for crafting some of the region’s finest and traditionally made wines across their range. Consistently providing solid value from top to bottom, their entry-level wines stand out as among the best values in Rioja. Exclusive use of American oak imparts a distinctive influence on the wines, noticeable even as they age. While this style may not appeal to everyone, aficionados of traditional Tempranillo from the old Rioja school, a considerable group, remain devoted followers of this estate for good reason.
A brilliant ruby robe, some warm spice, black raspberry and cherry on the nose, and a hint of coconut and tobabcco. Chewy and full, still young and concentrated. Anise as the wine opens. A lovely oak spice, nice clarity and tannins. Beautiful finish. This wine will get even better with age over the next 10 years.
