Joan D’Anguera Montsant is a seventh-generation family winery run by brothers Josep and Joan Anguera Pons, who took over the estate after their father’s passing in 2000. Initially, they produced structured, oaky wines typical of the time, but in 2008, they embarked on a complete transformation of the vineyards. Committed to creating wines in harmony with the terroir, they adopted organic and biodynamic practices, focusing on Grenache and Carignan. By 2012, they achieved full organic and Demeter certification, reflecting their dedication to sustainable and high-quality winemaking.
This wine presents an opaque red color, yet surprises with its balance and full-bodied structure. On the nose, it offers earthy aromas with wild strawberries, cherries, and a touch of spice. The palate is dry, showing some firm tannins with a lively, tangy brightness. There’s a delightful herbal grip with subtle spice, leading to a dry, mineral-driven finish. Its vibrant, fresh character and complex layers make it an enjoyable and well-crafted wine.
