Julie and Xavier Gonet-Médeville both come from illustrious winemaking families: Julie’s lineage is renowned for the incomparable Château Gilette, while Xavier comes from a long line of Champagne growers in Le Mesnil. Leading a new generation of winemakers, they bring their family knowledge, methods, and passion to the diverse range of wines they craft together.
In 2000, when his family’s Champagne vineyards were undergoing division, Xavier chose a select collection of the highest quality 1er and Grand Cru vineyards with the singular objective of producing exceedingly exquisite, small-batch Champagnes.
Gonet-Médeville is affiliated with the Les Artisans du Champagne group, which prides itself on amalgamating vineyard work with cellar work. As Julie and Xavier themselves articulate, “being Champagne Artisans embodies our complete engagement in all stages of Champagne production, we immerse ourselves in creating vibrant Champagnes that mirror our knowledge and heritage.” The outcome is wine that emit elegance, delicacy, festivity, and approachability.
This wine was delicious and enjoyed by all. 100% Pinot Noir, this Champagne presented a striking pale pink-gold hue with hints of raspberry, citrus, minerals, and delicate white flowers with a highly aromatic nose. It offered a juicy and fresh palate, with a subtle yet enduring finish and a lasting impression.
