Recently, I had the pleasure of enjoying a truly exceptional wine sourced by the individual who has been importing it to the US for the past 40 years. With only 120 bottles available annually, and always pre-sold to dedicated collectors, it was indeed a rare bottle. What made it even more remarkable was that it came in a magnum, allowing the wine to mature at a slower pace compared to a standard 750ml bottle.
The robe of the wine was a stunning shade of red, catching my eye with its clarity Upon closer inspection, subtle hints of aging were noticeable along the rim, adding depth to its character. The wine revealed delightful flavors of dark fruit, with notes of cherry and red berry revealing a freshness after 29 years in bottle. The texture was rich and dense, offering a satisfyingly velvety sensation that lingered with each sip. The tannins, while present, were elegantly integrated, contributing to the wine’s overall graceful and balanced profile.
SPECTACULAR!
