Domaine de Majas Côtes Catalanes Rosé “L’Amoureuse”

I found this wine in a small shop in VT. The retro label design captured my attention.  Curious to know more, I looked at the back of the bottle and found that the importer was Louis/Dressner.

Denyse Louis and the late Joe Dressner started their New York-based company in 1988 with a handful of French producers. Now run by Ms. Louis, Kevin McKenna, and Jules Dressner, this importer is a top source of natural, organic, and biodynamic wines.

They are one of the three high-quality, established, and consistent US importers, the other two being Kermit Lynch (CA) and Rosenthal Wine Merchant (NY).

The Domaine de Majas Côtes Catalanes Rosé “L’Amoureuse” 2021 is a delightful wine. Hailing from the Côtes Catalanes region, it is a true expression of the terroir and craftsmanship of the winemakers at Domaine de Majas.

This wine was a vivid strawberry pink and had an earthy rose, bold minerality, and red fruit notes. It’s juicy with a tart red berry explosion of flavors, it is electric and extremely food-friendly. Luscious strawberry, light with a soft citrus finish. Perfect for warm weather and outdoor gatherings, this rosé is a versatile companion that pairs well with just about anything. It also stands well on its own as a refreshing apéritif. $18.
